Following on from our 2009 basic Teaching and Learning programme (101 series) members were encouraged to get together in teams of 1-3 and create a short film of about 30 seconds - 3 minutes in length, using randomly assigned elements and the knowledge they had gained from the programme.

The 101 is part of TeamTV's move to a more structured teaching and learning approach, we are going back to basics and making sure we're improving our skills week on week. This is starting with our series of 101 courses designed to clarify and exemplify the basic and critical principles of good filmmaking practice.

Sessions we cover include:

• Narrative 101
• Camerawork 101
• Audio 101
• Lighting 101
• Editing 101

The idea is to make everything as basic and low-cost as possible so that the material is accessible to everyone. All the materials we use to exemplify good filmmaking practice and the elements of the 101 are put online here so that they are more widely accessible, both to our members in their spare time and to others who might not be able to make it to our meetings.

The series of teaching and learning sessions culminate in an activity designed to put to use, reinforce and solidify the knowledge and skills outlined in the sessions.
